Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, deputy head of the Afghan Taliban’s political office in Qatar and a member of the negotiating team, said a new government will be formed within three days wherein women will also be included.
In a special conversation with BBC Pashto Radio, he stated that those who have been in the government in one form or other for the last 20 years will not be included in the new government. He made it clear that “There is no doubt that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will form a government that will be supported both inside and outside Afghanistan”. He further stated that it would be an inclusive government and would represent all. According to Abbas Stanikzai, his new government would consist of “holy and educated” people.
Women will also be included In the new government
Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai said in the interview that women would be included in his government. He said, “there is no doubt that there will be a large number of women in the new government, but it is not yet clear whether they will hold senior positions or not,”.
Women can work in offices
Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai also claimed that there will be no problem with women in his government and women can work in offices. He further said, “We are sure that everyone will recognize this government because after 20 years of war, peace has been established in Afghanistan and such a government is being formed.”
According to Abbas Stanikzai, for the first time in 40 years, there has been no war in Afghanistan in the last fortnight. He says that this situation will benefit not only Afghans but also the international community. “The Afghans are united and the world needs to take advantage of this situation and recognize our government,” he said.
According to Sher Muhammad Abbas Stanikzai, his government wants good relations with all countries of the world, including the European Union and the United States, and Afghanistan’s neighbors should also take advantage of this situation. According to Abbas Stanikzai, members of his political office in Qatar are in talks with various countries.
Kabul airport will start in two days
According to Sher Muhammad Abbas Stanikzai, Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul is being remodeled after the return of the US soldiers and will be operational in two days. According to him, the repair of the airport will cost $25-30 million, which will be provided by Qatar and Turkey.
Responding to a question whether the new Taliban government would allow Afghans wanting to leave Afghanistan, Stanikzai said, “Those who have legal documents will be allowed to leave the country through airports and other routes.” He also added that no one will be allowed to leave the country without a passport and visa.
