Women Can Have the Problem of Sexual Arousal All the Time
There is so much mystery surrounding the subject of women’s sexual arousal. This is unlike men’s sexual arousal and orgasm. Women can feel sexual arousal on multiple occasions and reach orgasm multiple times during sex. But most women have the problem of sexual arousal all the time. This is called persistent genital arousal disorder or persistent sexual arousal syndrome. Women facing this type of disorder can feel arousal all the time even without any sexual activity and excitement. Sometimes this situation becomes worse that even without wanting to have sex, women remain sexually aroused.
This sort of uncontrolled sexual and clitoris sexual arousal can last for long hours, days, or months. This is unwanted and has nothing to do with sexual activity. This arousal does not lessen even if achieving orgasms once or twice.
According to doctors, sexual arousal can happen due to some kind of irritation in the nerves. This irritation of nerves reaches the genitals. This type of condition can also arise due to injury to the lowest part of the spine. Such syndrome is seen more in women than men. Doctors say, being aroused all the time is a nervous system problem and it can be treated in time.
Treatments of Persistent Sexual Arousal
Senior author Bruce Price of MGH Hospital says that this sort of disorder is little known as many women keep facing this problem instead of saying anything or seeing a doctor. Many times women find it difficult to recognize the symptoms of this disease. And even if they suffer from this disease, the shame of sexual arousal makes it difficult for them to tell the doctor.
According to a study published in the Journal Pain Reports, there were 10 women who showed symptoms of the disease between the ages of 11 and 70 years. Among these, four patients had cysts in the spinal cord and two women had affected sensory nerves.
Many Women Born with Spinal Defects that can cause sexual arousal symptom
Many women who have symptoms of this disease have spinal defects. In some women, the syndrome of persistent arousal is developed at a very young age. In this type of syndrome, Anaesthesia and antidepressant medicines stop working or even any mental advice doesn’t work as it is a system-related disease, not a mental disease.
In the study, it’s been found that 80 percent of the patients having such syndrome were relieved by removing the cyst and repairing the nerve. Ann Louis Oaklander, the author of the study, says that physicians must be aware of this disease to prescribe the right treatment. Patients are more likely to have Persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD) when they experience any kind of pelvic pain and urologic symptoms.
